Ariel Gail

Professor Gail S. Goodman holds the Outstanding Chair in Psychology at the University of California Davis and is the director of the Center for Public Policy Research. Her name is associated with the start of modern science's study on the memory of children's eyewitnesses as well as the role of children as victims in court contexts. Professor Goodman has published widely with numerous grants, and has received several international and national honors. She has worked with numerous governments and agencies throughout the world regarding policy guidelines and research concerning child victims within the legal system. She acts as a consultant to the Special Assault Forensic Evaluation Center of Sacramento County Child Protective Services (formerly Multidisciplinary Interview Center). She is a fellow of numerous professional groups, such as that of Association for Psychological Science and the American Psychological Association (Divisions Experimental Psychology Developmental Psychology Society for the Psychological Study of Social Issues Society for Child and Family Policy and Practice American Psychology-Law Society Psychology of Women and Traumatic Stress 56). Professor Goodman belongs to the Psychonomics Society, American Professional Society on the Abuse of Children and International Society for Traumatic Stress Studies. She served as president of the American Psychological Association's Developmental Division and Division American Psychology Law Society and Division Society for Child and Family the Practice and Policy.
